Began to paint in 1954 with the famous
artist GEORGINA DE ALBUQUERQUE, a great
impressionist artist in Niterói,
Rio de
Janeiro. |
In 1958 studied in the GUANABARA
FINE ARTS INSTITUTE where had classes in anatomy, figure,
portrait , still lifes and landscapes, in drawing and oil
painting, with the masters CADMO FAUSTO, SALVADOR
SABATÉ, OSWALDO TEIXEIRA and MANOEL SANTIAGO.
Later, graduated in Natural
History in the FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO.
Was disciple for many years of the
master ARY DUARTE, frequenting intensively his studio from
1958 to 1965 making a fine friendship with his teacher.
Still in the fifties frequented classes in a course of Commercial/Artistic Drawing in the Oberg Institute where meet LYDIO BANDEIRA DE MELLO who was substituing a teacher temporarily, and that contact marked his artistic trajectory with LYDIO precious suggestions.
Participated in all artistic
activities in the city of Niterói, in the years 1958 to 1975
in the FLUMINENSE SOCIETY OF FINE ARTS,
havefrequented the famous collective studio near the
FISH MARKET with other artists as ALUIZIO VALLE, BRAULIO
POIAVA, BUSTAMENTE SÁ, DANTE CROCE, JOSÉ COSTA FILHO, JOÃO
TOLENTINO, JAIR PICADO , JAYME CAVALCANTE, where they
made their meeting point for many years, from where they
went to paint seascapes and landscapes on the beautiful and
historic sites of Niterói.
In 1986 painted a mural for the
NILO PEÇANHA SCHOOL in Niterói, about the theme
“The Origin of Life”.
Figurative, with
Impressionist inspiration, have sometimes nimble and
divided brushwork, Generous impasto, sometimes using the
pallete knife, and in other time paints in a clean
brushstroke, with large areas of color and desert
sites.
